One half of the most visionary art duo in the world, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, has passed away. Jeanne-Claude, who with her husband Christo garnered international renown for creating site-specific ephemeral public artworks, was 74 years old.
After a career with highlights including wrapping the Reichstag (above), Putting gates in Central Park (The Gate, 2005), and Umbrellas in Japan, this loss to the artworld really represents the end of an era.
